A Personal Devotional by Debbie Hall
The Staff’s Dream for the Year 2020:
(As spoken by Danny Campbell, 3-5-00 Worship Service)
The dream was of a place where people would hear powerful sermons in person, on tape, on the radio, TV and internet, and those sermons being used of God to change lives.
The dream was of 600 people a week from all walks of life participating in inspiring worship services
The dream was of a place where 50 people would trust Christ and be baptized every year
The dream was of 50 people every year going on short term mission trips including things like taking our marriage weekends, and our grief groups, and doing things like those for the International Mission Board around the world
The dream was of people driving from places like Richmond, Roanoke, and Lynchburg here to see and hear our choir, our drama, and our praise and worship productions
The dream was of education and equipping from cradle to coffin through Sunday School, Discipleship Training, Retreats, and support of Christian schools and universities
The dream was of 200 children and youth participating in Awana every week
The dream was of lay-people using their gifts and talents and time all over the valley in support of such fine ministries as the Pregnancy Help Center and Equipping the Saints
The dream was of scores of people every year being loved and cared for through men’s and women’s growth groups, grief groups, divorce recovery groups, and the Counseling ministry
The dream was of having all the room we need to park and play, enjoying God and each other
The dream was of God being the center of it all, the fountain from which we drink through prayer and praise
Any number of us might not be here to see it, but these things have been a shared dream for the members of Wayne Hills Baptist Church. What a legacy to leave for those who will come after us! Let’s all do our part to make it a reality!
