Meet Teresa Sours

Teresa was born and raised in Love, Virginia, and is currently living only a few short minutes from that small mountain community where she spent her childhood.
Once upon a time, Teresa aspired to make a career in the field of accounting but God had different plans. As the result of a number of traumas, losses and struggles in her own life, she is able to minister to others who are going through their own trials.
Teresa’s struggles include childhood sexual abuse by her grandfather, the death of her mother at the age of 42 in a car accident, two miscarriages, life with a medically involved child and his premature death and most recently is a breast cancer survivor.
Teresa knows what it is to be broken but she also knows the amazing grace of God in the midst of seemingly impossible circumstances as well as the healing and redemption only He can bring in the aftermath. It is from her own personal experience that she is able to offer hope to those who are hurting.
Teresa has been married 25 years to her high school sweetheart, David. They have a daughter, Ashley, and a son-in-law, Michael, as well as their son Nathan who is in Heaven.
Teresa is on staff of Wayne Hills Baptist Church serving as a lay counselor and Ministry Coordinator. Her passion and calling in life is to help people find their healing, wholeness, and freedom in Christ.
She most recently realized one of her dreams with the publication of “Nathan: Still a Gift of God” which details the life and death of her son, as well as her very personal journey to find healing.

Nathan: Still a Gift of God is two amazing stories in one.
First, it tells the story of a little boy named Nathan—his miraculous birth, medically-involved life, and untimely death. But there is another story woven into the fabric of this book that will speak straight to the heart of anyone who has experienced devastating loss in their life.
It is this second story that tells of a mother’s heart going through the trials and struggles of having a son with significant health issues only to find herself living in the aftermath of his death.
Teresa gives the reader a very real and deeply personal look into her life as she faced a mother’s worst nightmare. She also shares her journey out of the pit of grief and despair to the place where she found true healing and wholeness in Christ.
Throughout this book and in the everyday lives of Teresa and those who knew him, you will find that Nathan was and still is a true gift of God.
