Ministries From A-Z
(All we do may not be included)

AAA Prayer Meeting

Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm we come together and break into small groups and pray with one another.  Prayer is the first ministry believers are called to (I Timothy 2:1), and it is more special when the generations come together to pray

Bereavement When someone in the life of our congregation experiences the death of a loved one our bereavement committee provides a very nice meal for the family back at the church
Children's Ministry  In addition to Sunday School teachers and AWANA leaders some neat folks lead our children in children’s church and Wednesday night activities
Child Protection This committee overseas the details related to our Child Protection Policy
Choir Our choir practices on Wednesday nights at 7 PM.  In Israel the choir often went out before the warriors to lead the way into battle with praise.  Currently our choir begins our services with the call to worship!
Comfort Care Women’s Health Many of our people work as volunteers at the Staunton and Waynesboro Pregnancy Help Centers in support of life!
Counseling  We provide Biblical counseling services (non-certified) to many in our church and area through our Ministry Facilitator, Teresa Sours.  The initial call should be made to Teresa’s voice mail at 941-6281.  Many have found new hope in their lives as a result of this ministry!
Counters These fine folks go to the bank in teams and count the Sunday offerings that have already been deposited
Deacons Spiritual servant leaders in the church who meet needs as they arise in the life of the congregation
Deaf Ministry 9:30 am Sunday School class and  the 11 am service is interpreted for the hearing impaired. This ministry has branched out in the past to mission trips to the Caribbean Christian Center for the deaf and helping Deaf Missionaries prepare at the Missionary Learning Center for service with the International Mission Board
Decoration  This team of servants provide those extra background touches to the sanctuary that make services that much more meaningful
Disaster Relief When a major crisis hits somewhere in the country we have folks ready to go and help with relief efforts
Divorce Care This ministry provides a spiritual and emotional connection for those who have been through divorce and all that it entails
Drama  Provides drama for the bigger music productions and  occasional skits in the services…On occasion we have dinner theatres and other special events, such as a world premiere reader’s theatre version of Luther’s Hammer by Bob Whitten
Equipping the Saints We have many people spend volunteer hours in Weyers Cave at Equipping the Saints, a visionary mission center that sends first world leftover supplies to meet third world needs- you name it they send it- typewriters, clothes, etc…
Food Pantry and Clothes Closet Twice a month our members distribute food and clothes at our old building at 222 Edward Avenue
Food Service Fellowship goes better with food, and this committee makes sure that events that need food coordination get it!
Fun Bunch    Our Senior citizens meet on Thursday mornings at 10 AM.  In addition to a pretty neat meeting time and lunch at local restaurants, they do quite a bit of ministry.  This includes ministry at Nursing Homes, folding clothes at Equipping the Saints, visiting peers, writing notes of encouragement, and praying over the church prayer list.
Grief Groups Teresa Sours, Ministry Facilitator, leads grief support groups for those who have lost loved ones.  The initial contact should be made to her voice mail, 941-6281.
Men's Ministry Events like Promise Keepers and monthly prayer breakfast.

Sunday School Teachers Sunday School is the backbone of our church.  Those who join the church and become active in a Sunday School class are far more likely to be in the church 2 years later than those who are not in Sunday School.  Those who desire to teach Sunday School have many training opportunities through our adult Discipleship Training program
Ushers These men handle all the details behind the scenes at our worship services
