Deaf Fellowship

For over 40 years, WHBC has ministered to the Deaf Community.

“Bringing Christ to the Deaf Community While Encouraging Love and Unity”

The Deaf ministry has been a part of Wayne Hills for over 40 years. Services had been interpreted to Deaf members until 2012.  That changed when the SBCV supported a Deaf pastor to come to Waynesboro twice a month for services on Saturday nights.  At that time, Pastor John Wyble began a ministry at Wayne Hills that changed the 40 year history.

Pastor John has been faithful to our ministry while leading his own congregation at Living Word Baptist Church in Forest, Virginia. John is also focused on church plants across Virginia to introduce the Deaf to the gospel.

Wayne Hills Deaf Fellowship has been praying for a local pastor to lead here in Waynesboro and Augusta County.  Those prayers were answered this month when we welcomed  Pastor Duane Martin to our Fellowship!  On February 10 we had a Commissioning service at Wayne Hills with 49 Deaf individuals attending from various parts of Virginia as well as South Carolina. Sue Browning and Brenda Bourne help facilitate alongside Pastor Duane each week.

We gather each week at 10:30am for worship and Bible study!
